Drama Queen’s last stand

It is with great regret that the family of Joan “the drama Queen” announce that the voice has been silenced but the spirit released!

Drama Queen’s last stand was a mighty battle worthy of songs and stories. We live in her love and ask that you remember her in the way that you knew her. Let her life inspire you as it has inspired her family. Rejoice in the little things and the young people in your life  as she did. Listen to others and tell your stories with strength and pride.

We hope that in touching you she will live with you as she has lived with us, as a beacon of love.

  1. Joan will live on with all of us in the incredible amount she has given us and what she has taught us about how to live. I'll be forever grateful that I got to know her.

  2. Great words and a lovely way to be remembered. Joan got on The Poetry Bus with us a few times and if you don't mind I'd like to post her beautiful last Poetry Bus poem 'Wait for me' on my blog.
Best wishes at this sad time to all her family and friends, Peadar.

  9. I knew Joan only through her poetry and comments, but I loved both. Joan was talented, generous and a joy to read.
My sympathy to all the family.

  10. I knew Joan through just the one poem for The Poetry Bus, but it was clear that she was gifted.
Visiting here now, it's nice to see she was also loved and had love in her life.
Peace to your hearts and blessings as you deal with her passing.

  11. I too never knew Joan, but I have just read her final poem on TFE's blog and this beautiful tribute to her from her family. It is testimony to Joan and to the blog world that she has touched so many hearts.

I wish I had come to know here sooner, but I am grateful for this brief glimpse into the writing and heart of a beautiful and talented woman.

  12. I have only known Joan for about a year but I loved her almost immediately. I adored her exhuberance, her sparkling honesty and quick wit. She was so encouraging to new writers and always found something interesting to comment about everyone's work. I had many a good chat with Joan where I felt she just 'got' it. An utter treasure, I am so glad to have known.
